CREATIVE STRATEGY | THE ENGLISH INN

A HERITAGE LEGACY

The brief from Aragon Properties was to create a new vision of the restaurant and bar lounge as an attraction to an existing inn in the Esquimalt neighbourhood in Victoria.

The English Inn is set on 1.5 acres of landscaped gardens on the edge of Esquimalt, the place of gradually shoaling water. The heritage architecture dates back to 1906 in a Tudor-style Manor designed by Canadian architect Samuel Maclure.

The timeless beauty of the building and well-manicured grounds has always been a draw for weddings and special occasions. The intention was not to alter what exists greatly but to enhance what has been cherished for over a century.

THE ENGLISH INN CONCEPT BOOK

Used as a visual guidebook to communicate a holistic concept from historical precedents to brand direction, interiors and programming look and feel, Aragon’s executive teams and partners have a clear tool kit to propel the project forward.
