DISNEY MAGIC CRUISES
In 2012, Disney came to us to fulfill artwork for two of their cruise liners - The Disney Magic. We provided concepts and fulfillment of multiple areas throughout the ships including the atrium lobby areas, the Cabanas all-day dining restaurant, Carioca restaurant, a german beer saloon, the Mickey lounge room and guest rooms. Evelyn had the opportunity to work collaboratively with the Walt Disney team in Los Angeles. Here are simply a few of the concepts we developed.
A CRUISE LINER FROM ANOTHER ERA
The Walt Disney Magic team envisioned a new cruise liner with an art deco aesthetic.

Keeping in line with the Art Deco aesthetic, we created a concept that takes inspiration from the golden age of travel. Taking influence from Tamara de Lempicka's exaggerated forms and the reflective finishes of Gustav Klimpt’s paintings, we proposed the use of a metallic aluminum and gold finish substrate that we can print our 3-D mural on.
We took into account 3 digital screens to showcase adventure day trips that guests can join while docked in cities.

To mirror the existing oversized portholes that surrounded the upper deck, we proposed a triptych of mosaic medallions in tile.
cabanas concepts
Within the Cabanas restaurant, we worked alongside Puccini Group, an interior design firm, to concept the following artwork.
The first is a wood relief mural based on Disney’s Nemo characters. The characters were redrawn in a style that still resembles Disney’s standards but deviated so we could laser cut the forms.
The second concept was a ceiling installation of 3D seagulls mounted over graphic flight patterns printed on vinyl.
The third was surfboard-inspired graphics to cover columns throughout the dining space.
